food is better than our website

Hey Mike,

Agreed. One of the few restaurants in Vancouver where the food is better than the web site.

Wednesday, June 14, 2017

Your note actually hurt on first read since we love our neighbourhood and are not here to take advantage of our friends, our approach is "feed your friends"

So you know, All can find our offer in the entertainment book and a 2 for 1 in the Georgia Straight for those with tighter budgets.

Further, we are committed to this neighbourhood and 15 of the 17 people we employ live within walking distance, plus choose to keep the purchasing dollars within east van too. Which we know chain restaurnats are not interested in anyone as a person, just profits.

Please consider chain Purchasing power, and portion sizes too. Independents pay 10-30% more for the same ingredients from suppliers. We use a 6oz cut of wild salmon. Chains tend to use a 4oz or even less.

Agreed competition is healthy for everyone... not sure if the operators of xxxxy has many of the positive living practices we offer as a community spot. or have they lived out of trunk of their car for a year or squatted on a pal's boat for 3yrs to earn the business we chose to be in. Truthfully with all the support groups we host, the Tipper actually operates at a loss and have made $0.00 profit to date.

Lots of words here due to the passion for the business, and our neighbourhood.

Thank you again and I hope to hear from you or say hello during your next visit if you choose to.

Do good food. And can eat food. Like food. Give them my money for food. Not that much food money! I listen to the songs they play, and there is a mirror you can see yourself without going to toilet first.

Service is great- vibe is cozy and chill. Food is just ok, don't expect gourmet. But a nice little neighbourhood chat and chew.

Good simple food at this east van restaurant. Has a rocker vibe. Great place to get a beer and have chat with a friend.

Kind words.

Once again thanks to The Tipper for providing the space in your review room for local live music and in this case a fundraiser for the VGH Cardio Rehab Program. And as always the food was great. You guys rock.

Breakfast Items after 4:00pm

If breakfast is what you desire after the scheduled time.. inquire, ask, phone ahead. we wont always say no.
Not saying it was the reason for not accommodating a seemingly simple request of an omelet.

Ok Folks :) Here are 3 of many reasons you might be denied that omelet at that time.

Event Night:  We host events some of which can bury a fresh food kitchen when 45 people order in less amount of time. Once breakfast has been broken down and we are set for dinner. Sorry try again tomorrow. Often the front is empty while we host a larger group in the back room.

Kitchen Staff: Not everyone can or should cook breakfast... Day shift has gone home. The Reality of breakfast restaurants is some Pm line cooks aren't trained to for those menu items yet. They will say no, best try again tomorrow.

Front of House staff: Depending on how the conversation went... our servers will plead with the kitchen for a regular who is Rad in the asking.

"They have an absurd policy of nobreakfast items after 4:00 PM. At 4:20 they lost the sale of a $15.00 omeletand a beer in an empty restaurant. I left instead .... How's that policy working now!"
